[Frisbee] Ultimate 2006

Hello All,

I am reporting out on the March 28th Brattleboro Ultimate meeting at the Gibson-Aiken Center.

In attendance:  Alan, Alyssa, Bruce, Clark, Drew, Eric, Jim, Lauren.

Announcements # 1 - Let's start playing

Set days for play:  All coed
Monday = Mellow, just starting to play, instruction optional
Tuesday = Tournament tested or aspirations to play at tournament level, understanding of rules & basic strategy
Wednesday = Intermediate, instructional, learn and play by rules and introduce strategy, league night starting in May.

Announcement # 2 - League Night Wednesday
We think a league is a good idea this year and the folks listed above will take the next two weeks assessing our numbers.  In order for a league to work and be beneficial for all, it was decided upon that the league would be instructional with a spirit of the game emphasis, played by proper ultimate rules and strategy would be introduced.  League is open to beginners, old-timers are encouraged to come back home, club players be prepared to teach and youth 14 & up are welcome.  An instructional clinic for those interested will take place before league games start.  Willingness to learn how to play team disc and improve is always a plus.

Announcement # 3
UPA sponsorship may be crucial to the future of Brattleboro disc.  In order to have basic liability coverage and legitimacy, we will need to utilize the Ultimate Players Association for insurance which means at some point we will facilitate collection of money.  This part is a drag so we will cross that bridge later.

Announcement # 3
Lets use frisbee at both for productive, forward thinking ultimate dialog and announcements.  We want to use this vehicle productively because it helps knowing that people will check it and stay informed.

Its been a long day and I probably forgot some stuff.  If anyone else can add more clarity or info please do.

There's lots of disc being played in our area - Brattleboro, Westminster, Keene, Greenfield, NoHo, Amherst lets help spread the word.
