[Frisbee] Important News on Full Flex & Your Vote

Full Flex Field is officially off limits to Windham Regional residents for
the first time in 60 years.  Brattleboro town government has done little
to respond to the gaping recreational hole in the Brattleboro landscape
beyond a shrug of the shoulders and blind faith in a YMCA that may never
come (Peter Moore has given a great deal and is not to blame).

So when the snow melts a lot of people are going to be looking for a place
to play.  As a community, we need a Brattleboro selectboard that is
willing to engage public interest and be open to dialog that entertains
the notion that the fields can be saved.  For all Brattleboro residents,
Garfield, Durant and Bouboulis have each activiely embraced a vision of
Brattleboro that includes green space just past the round-about.  I am not
sure about the other candidates.

There's a lot of reasons why Brattleboro needs more PUBLIC recreational
space.  On the top of my list - a fair and equitable future for all
residents.  For the time being, the ultimate community is safe and
alternative resources have been secured.  The real danger is a "pay to
play" world where sports and recreation are a privilege not a way of life.

Vote for open green space and a place to play ~ tell a friend, put the
word on the street, once those fields are not available and people feel
the result, this issue is going to blow up, we need a Brattleboro
Selectboard that is willing to try and then the surrounding towns will
follow.
